Paws For Life Announces June 2020 Adoptable Dog of the Month

Each month, we will feature one of our lovable pets that are available for adoption. If you are interested in adding this pet to your family and mention seeing this blog post you’ll receive a free collar and leash when you are approved and adopt your new companion!

This Month our adoptable dog is Marla!
Consider adding this loving and cheerful girl to your family. She would love to have a family to bond with, share hugs and kisses with, and take walks and play with.

Marla is a 55lb female Boxer/Hound mix. She has shorter legs and is on the large side of a medium-sized dog. She will bond quickly with anyone that shows her affection and is very sweet and lovable. Marla is great at giving hugs and would love to lay with you and rest her head on your leg.
A fenced in yard would be ideal for her as she loves to spend time running and playing. She needs stronger chew toys that can hold up to her playful excitement. Marla would be okay with a doggie sibling. She prefers one on one interaction. She prefers male dogs to female. Since she is part hound, she must be in a cat-free home. A home with older children would be ideal for her. Marla IS house trained, and she will tolerate a crate, but does not prefer it. She is a quick learner and eager to please.

All dogs adopted through Paws for Life are spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines, and are administered monthly flea and tick preventative. Please reach out to dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org if you have any questions about Marla or any of our pets available for adoption. If you believe you would like to adopt Marla, you can get a jump on things by filling out our online adoption form! Click here!

CALLING ALL SPONSORS!!!

Registration is now open for our 18th Annual 5K & 1-Mile Dog Walk.

We are hosting our 18th annual 5K Race & 1-Mile Dog Walk on Saturday, October 17th, 2020, at the Wake Forest College Birthplace, Historical District. We would LOVE your support at our event so we can continue the mission of saving lives of homeless cats and dogs in “our” community. We do this by rescuing animals from local high-kill shelters and providing much-needed emergency medical care, surgeries, vaccinations, spays & neuters, micro-chipping, food, and lots of TLC through our foster program until they are placed in loving adoptive homes. Paws for Life NC has been dedicated to our community since 2002 and with your help we can make 2020 a great year for even more animals!

Thank You for ALL of your support in 2019

In 2019 Paws For Life NC adopted out 356 cats and still have 31 cats in foster. So that is 387 cats saved. We adopted out 115 dogs and have 30 dogs in care. That is 145 dogs. Most of these were injured, sick, and leftovers from local rural shelters. Our volunteers loved, sweated, lost sleep, cried, and rejoiced over all of these precious lives to make this possible.

It has been an exhilarating and exhausting year. We cannot begin to adequately THANK everyone who took part in …this lifesaving work… the foster caregivers, the screeners, the data managers, the board members, our community partners, the condo caretakers, the QShed helpers, the fund-raisers, the social media promoters, the grant writers, and our financial supporters for their contributions.

We are continually seeking passionate volunteers who want to help cats and dogs find life. And not just life but the best life!!

If you would like to join our team as a committed and hardworking member to save more lives in 2020 please do!! We need skills of all kinds. Love dogs? The dog team needs you. Love cats? The cat team needs you. Have administrative skills, a car that can drive to deliver supplies and animals, can create a newsletter, organize a fundraiser? We need you! We look forward to all of the new dogs and cats that will find LIFE through Paws of Life NC in 2020!
